I mainly work in acrylics, gouache and pencil, and also use found material in wall-hung constructions. Much of my representational work is landscape based, but I have a bias towards the symbolic/abstract, often making work in which the painting itself directs the process so I end up with something I’d not anticipated or planned.
Being a child of the middle of the twentieth century, my early and abiding influences are artists of that era: Paul Nash, the St Ives Modernists etc.
